A gold mine in South America produces dangerous chemicals that could cause health issues to surrounding native residents while polluting the local water supply and rainforest.
Challenge
Our customer came to us with the challenge to not only design and build the equipment needed to treat the water, but to withstand the inclement weather conditions of the area. The mining facility is located 3 hours away from the nearest airport so reliability and easy remote access are important. During the rainy season, it is typical to see rainfall totals topping out at 12” per month.
Solution
A typical application would utilize a standard NEMA 4X enclosure to protect the electrical components and the instrumentation however, this installation required something more. Our experienced design team laid out a plan to house this water treatment equipment inside a small enclosed structure.
